Kate Suhr Album Release Show/Party
Kate is a singer, songwriter from Peterborough, Ontario best known for her melancholic and haunting original songs. Her first EP, Something More, was released in 2015 and saw interest from talent bookers, landing her a spot performing at the Boots and Hearts Music Festival in 2016. Kate recently opened for Ruth B at Peterborough MusicFest in July of 2017. Kate has also been a regular on the stage at Hootenanny on Hunter, has performed at the Peterborough Folk Festival, Taste of Toronto, and has played a number of live music venues across Southern Ontario. Her music is also featured in the award winning documentary, Murphy’s Law, and National Fishing Week. Trained at Western University and Humber College, Kate can also be spotted in stage musicals having recently starred in the Lower Ossington Theatre’s production of the Little Mermaid as Ariel, and the title character in Mary Poppins, in Toronto, Ontario.
Kate’s upcoming album titled Selkie Bride is a true reflection of self-discovery and growth. The LP is both layered and woven with storytelling, folklore, love, and a little bit of grit.
“Having such talented artists on the album as James McKenty from The Spades (producer & instrumentalist), Loel Campbell from Wintersleep, Greg Marshak of The Silver Hearts, Jimi Bowskill from The Sheepdogs, along with Ian McKeown, Melissa Payne, Rob Phillips, Kate Brioux, and Paul Crough has meant so much to me. I really can’t wait to share what we’ve created with everyone.”
